Motherhood of the traveling blue dress…

July 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hope you like blue. This fabulous little number happens to be my one “fun-but-dressy” maternity outfit so she gets a lot of wear. She’s going to take you on a mini tour of the southeast as she chronicles our travels over the past month.
CHARLESTON, SC…home sweet home for an early Saturday morning stroll around downtown with my hubby – who always captures the greatest little nooks in Charleston in his photos.

EDENTON, NC – Lunch with the coaches and wives at the Edenton Steamers Coaches’ Reunion in June.

Outside the B&B they put us up in… the Granville Queen.

A romantic walk on the Edenton waterfront.

I love how those trees sprout right up out of the Albemarle Sound!

CLIFTON, VA – Shower time! Mom D and T threw a sweet get-together and I got to see many old friends – a room full of great ladies. Feelin’ the sister-sister love!!

Me and A with the new Grandma!

 Isn’t Nana so cute?

The hostess with the mostess and an old buddy.
Nana and Grandma.

Me and M, my fabulous gift list keeper and long-time buddy…

So many presents!

The pink aftermath.

BACK HOME IN CHARLESTON – 4th of July on Folly Beach with Mr. and Mrs. Mae and Mrs. Mae’s momma and daddy. The blue dress took the holiday off…

D and A. How do BOTH of them have vintage Kent State t-shirts??? And the plaid shorts just complete the identical twin motif.

This is an exercise in pushing vanity aside, throwing caution to the wind and posting a very unflattering, behemoth picture of me. But I love my Mrs. Mae, so it has to make the blog.

CHATTANOOGA, TN – A little after celebrating Independence Day, I headed up to the PMI headquarters to get certified to teach their Bible courses. It was beautiful – the campus, the weather, the people – very refreshing.

Our dorm room… I had a top bunk!!

The dorm house.

I heart Crepe Myrtles.

Back home in CHARLESTON again. E came to visit! Here we are, out on the town for a night of jazzy tunes. E and J – aren’t they cute?

E and me – out late on King Street. Some things never change…

And no summer is complete with out ice cream! (Or Publix gourmet lowfat frozen yogurt as it were…) Especially when it’s upside down in a cool glass and laden with ripe blueberries… Mmmmm…

(All travel made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Mae – the most generous dog-sitters in the tri-state area.)
